  2. 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  3. 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  4. 1 tablespoon ghee
  5. Chopped pistachios for garnish (optional)

Method / Preparation

Follow step-by-step instructions
  1. Crumb the khoa in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat.
  2. Add sugar and cardamom powder and cook while stirring continuously until the mixture thickens and begins to leave the sides of the pan.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in ghee.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool slightly; then shape into small round balls (pedas).
  5. Garnish with chopped pistachios and serve at room temperature or chilled.
